Story Starters Pirates puts the Plucky Pirates in kids’ hands. They draw three illustrated cards and build a story from them, with First Mate Max leading, Squawkbeard heckling, and Cap’n Funny Bones causing trouble. Nothing to read, so pre-readers play on equal footing, which is why speech and language therapists and preschool teachers keep finding it. Forty-eight cards: 12 characters, 11 places, 24 objects and one blank kids fill in themselves. Includes the illustrated booklet “Pirate Max Finds His Crew” plus buildable Max and Squawkbeard figures.
